The Game Awards, sebuah acara penghargaan game yang sangat bergengsi, baru saja sukses digelar di Peacock Theater, Los Angeles. Setelah proses penghitungan suara yang berlangsung sejak pertengahan bulan November, The Game Awards akhirnya mengumumkan daftar pemenang yang dinantikan di berbagai kategori.
Puncak dari seluruh penghargaan tentu saja adalah kategori Game of the Year. Tahun ini, peraih prestisius dari kategori tersebut adalah Baldur's Gate 3, yang berhasil memboyong pulang trofi utama di The Game Awards 2023.
Baldur's Gate 3 benar-benar mendominasi panggung The Game Awards 2023. Selain meraih gelar Game of the Year, game ini juga sukses membawa pulang penghargaan Best Performance (diberikan kepada Neil Newbon), Best Community Support, Best Multiplayer, Best RPG, dan Player's Voice.
Prestasi gemilang juga diraih oleh game lainnya di The Game Awards 2023, seperti Alan Wake 2 yang meraih tiga penghargaan dan Forza Motorsport yang berhasil menyabet dua penghargaan.
Meskipun demikian, sayangnya, karya lokal yang dinantikan, A Space for the Unbound buatan Mojiken Studio, belum berhasil memenangkan kategori Games for Impact. Kategori ini akhirnya dimenangkan oleh game action-adventure bernama Tchia. Meskipun demikian, kehadiran game lokal tetap mengundang kebanggaan dalam industri game Indonesia.
